This page describes the tools on this site as they are actually built. The short version: your log files are never uploaded — there is no server endpoint that receives them. All parsing, grouping and redaction happens in your browser.
What happens to a file you drop
- The file is read in slices by your browser and processed on your device, in your browser.
- The full log text exists only in memory during processing; it is never written to disk, storage, or the network by this site's code.
- Raw samples are held in page memory for the live session only, so the board can show them. They are not persisted raw.
What is stored, where, and how to remove it
- Board aggregates (Error Grouper only): group patterns, counts, first/last seen and samples — with samples and patterns redacted before storage — are saved in your browser so the board survives a reload. This stays on your device. The board's "Clear saved board data" action deletes it, as does clearing site data in your browser.
- Nothing else is stored by the tools: no accounts, no log history, no uploaded copies.
Network requests
- The tools themselves make no network requests with your data — no uploads, no beacons, no third-party calls from the processing code.
- Pages are served as static files by the hosting provider, which necessarily sees ordinary request metadata (IP address, user-agent) as any website does.
- Advertising placeholders are present in the layout but no advertising network is connected at launch; if that changes, this page will be updated to name the provider and its cookies before any ad code ships.
Exports
Anything you download or copy from the tools (incident reports, redacted logs, summaries) is generated locally and is always redacted, even if you enabled the on-screen raw view. What you then do with an export is under your control — the redaction guide explains the residual risks honestly.
